Our Journey

September 6, 2017

It all started off as a personal need. I wanted my name in Arabic on a hoodie but as a student, living out, it wasn't something that I could easily afford. Lucky for me, I had a father who was already in the clothing business. For over 30 years my father has been supplying retail shops with tourist merchandise and so he had the equipment available to make any design and press it onto a garment. I've been familiar with the equipment since the age of 16 (I'm 21 now), so I thought, why don't I make myself an Arabic top? I'll get the design, tell my bro (the computer freak) to make it up on the computer and press it on to a hoodie.  We did just that, and voila! I had my own personalised Arabic hoodie. I was so chuffed, I could not wait to wear to uni... and that's where things really started to kick off.

So it was 9AM lecture on a Monday morning, for the first time I'm actually upbeat for an early lecture, because I was wearing my personalised hoodie. As soon as my akhis saw that hoodie they instantly demanded me to tell them where they can get one from. To their delight I said you can get them from none other than me! So I sorted out my close friends with the custom hoodies. Soon, their brothers wanted hoodies, their sisters wanted hoodies, their cousins wanted hoodies, their mates wanted hoodies, and me being part of the Islamic Society at my uni, word soon spread fast that I was selling custom Arabic hoodies. I was inundated with orders and I was finding it hard to keep track of because I was doing everything by hand. So I thought enough was enough, I need to make a website, I need to make this official. So I brought the idea to my brother.  He was in charge of my dad's original business, managing and designing for him , so if anyone was going to make this business work it was my brother Nayim.  So we did. I could get the the word out there and get the company on the map, whilst my bro did the work that you don't see , the designing, the organising.

And that's where uDeen Clothing was born. You guys must be thinking "uDeen, yeah that's a decent name." But if you take in the fact that our family surname is Uddin (prounounced "ood-dinn") you can appreciate the play on words more for our company name.

15th of April, we officially launched uDeen Clothing, and I have to say it is one the most proudest achievements I have had the privilege to be apart of. In such a short space of time we've managed to gain a good following and to many people, have become a trusted company for them to go to for their customised clothing. The best part of starting a company such as this, is the feedback we get from our wonderful customers from all around the world. When customers tag us or private message us saying how much they love the product, it means everything to us, and it gives us a lot of joy knowing that people in places such as Australia, USA, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Greece etc are wearing our products. For a company that is based little old Kent in England, it's a fantastic feeling and it wouldn't be possible without the continuous support from you guys.

Please continue to keep us in your duas, please keep supporting and spreading the word, and inshAllah more successes are on our way. Thank you.

Naz, uDeen
